i've been working at a print shop for my mom the past couple of weeks cause they needed some extra help, and all the listen to in the shop area is country music all the time...today i realized something...they pay people to write country music songs...people make money doing that...there was a song on today that had a very interesting chorus i thought...it went like this:

"yeehaw"

yep that's it...AWESOME right? so i've made a decision...i'm going to try my hand at writing country music songs...i mean it obviously doesn't take much...easy money baby, that's what i'm all about...it's ridiculous what we pay people to do these days...

i miss glory...wow, i'm halfway to a country song already...hey here's an idea:

"well it was about two weeks ago
that i left my baby in buffalo
she needs to come back real soon ya know
cause i really really really really love her so"

country music, here i come!

Dusk and Summer

i wrote another song....i don't know what's happening to me...here it is:

Obviously

I look at the picture you sent

It makes me long for what I’ve missed

These past thirty-five days and counting

Just to look into that face

Standing here in this familiar place

Oh, that is all I want and more

Pre-Chorus

Waiting and wishing and counting it down

Just nineteen days til this girl’s back in town

Chorus

Obviously

My Father wants what’s best for me

He’s given me His best you see

And I could not ask for more

It would be lunacy

To let go of this beauty queen

I can’t ignore this display of His majesty

And I could not ask for more

I know I don’t always act

With all lovingness and tact

But if I could take it all back I would

I want to be your perfect man

And to live as He has planned

And with you by my side I know we can pull me through

Pre-Chorus

Trying and failing and trying again

I promise I’ll get there if you keep faith in this man

Chorus

It’s hard not to lose it when I can’t see your face

I’m trying to stay optimistic but it feels like a losing race

I’ll make it, I’ll make it, just try to make it too

Cause I know that He’ll always bring me right back to you

Chorus

Spontaneously Unseen

ummm...so i wrote a song...i can't put any music to it, cause i'm just a drummer, but maybe if my fellow band members like it, they can do that part(so you better like it guys)...of course, i have an idea for the way i want it to sound so maybe we can work it out...let me know if you like it, and keep in mind this is pretty much my first song to ever write, i just had it inside of me and it wanted out, so hopefully it's good...i'm rambling...here it is...

Spontaneously Unseen

Sitting alone again without a thing to do

This has been my life without you

I’d rather live every day in that same old routine

Than to wait alone while you’re spontaneously unseen

I guess this will teach me not to gripe about those recurring days

I guess I will learn how to count myself blessed in so many ways

I know that pretty soon we’re gonna go back to that same routine

But I can’t wait cause you will be right here with me

Anything I do seems like it’s missing something key

Do you feel it too? Can you see what I mean?

I wish two months would pass tonight while I sleep

Then no longer would you be spontaneously unseen

I guess this will teach me not to gripe about those recurring days

I guess I will learn how to count myself blessed in so many ways

I know that pretty soon we’re gonna go back to that same routine

But I can’t wait cause you will be right here with me

Why do we have to learn patience while we’re so far apart?

I don’t wanna keep this up, don’t want to do this to my heart

But I would wait forever if I had to that’s for sure

Cause forever isn’t too long for a love so pure

Chasing Mississippi

this is a song that i wish applied to me right now (not the locations though):

Greyhound, Greyhound
Get my baby back now
In one piece, safe and sound
On Greyhound

My baby bought a ticket, can’t wait to see her face
Coming back to Tennessee from a million miles away
She got on this morning
Get here this afternoon
Pick up the pace, can’t get here too soon

Greyhound, Greyhound
Get my baby back now
In one piece, safe and sound
On Greyhound
(x2)

I know her phone is ringing
She can’t hear the sound
Drowned out by them big ol wheels eating up the ground
Jackson Mississippi, Memphis Tennessee
Two more hours til she’s here with me

Greyhound, Greyhound
Get my baby back now
In one piece, safe and sound
On Greyhound
(x2)

Lord, You’ve been so good to me
Faithful friends and family
No I don’t deserve it Lord.
But one thing I pray
On that big ol’ bus You’ll keep her safe.

Greyhound, Greyhound
Get my baby back now
In one piece, safe and sound
On Greyhound
(x2)

I can’t believe she’s coming back home
To me.

random though (don't take this the wrong way):

i wish i had the will power of an anorexic teenage girl...i'm completely serious...think about that, and let me know if you agree...

i enjoy me some ben harper...is it bad that lots of secular bands have more spiritual depth to their songs than most Christian bands?  i say yes and no...bad for Christian music, great for nonbelievers who won't listen to it anyway...amen or oh me?
